A side lift for use in loading and/or unloading a tray of a utility vehicle. The lift includes a frame attachable to an underside of the tray. The frame has a pair of substantially parallel arms adapted to rotate in a substantially vertical plane in use. The lift includes a platform which is rotatably connected to the arms to allow the platform to rotate in a first direction relative to the arms and so that the platform remains substantially horizontal during rotation of the arms. The lift includes an actuator for actuating the arms to rotate in the substantially vertical plane between a raised position in which the platform is positioned substantially adjacent to the tray, and a lowered position in which the platform is positioned adjacent to the ground. The angle of rotation of the arms between the raised position and the lowered position is 90 degrees or less relative to a floor of the tray.
