Embodiments of the invention relate to combination therapy for liver disease comprising an amount of Aramchol or a pharmaceutically acceptable salt thereof in combination with an amount of vitamin D receptor (VDR) agonist to treat the disease. The liver disease may be non- alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) or non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH).
