The massprovided with the additive is molded by a molding unit intoindividual articles downstream of the mixing unit. Themetering of the additive is performed in a sequence ofmetering states with two different metering states. Themetering unit, for a given metering state, meters theadditive to the mass at a given metering rate. This canminimize damage of articles during mixing.
