A method of constructing a mass-customized orthopedic implant comprising: identifying features, where the features comprise at least one of landmarks and shape features, across a statistical atlas population of bones； generating descriptors relevant to implant design using the identified features across the statistical atlas population of bones； grouping at least some of the descriptors into a group having similar descriptors； parameterizing the group to extract parameters from the group； and, generating an electronic design file for a mass-customized orthopedic implant.
