PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medical guide wire that improves rotation transmission performance to a distal end side of the medical guide wire and plastic deformation performance, and prevents a jamming phenomenon of coils in a parallel wire procedure.SOLUTION: An outer coil 13 is joined to a distal end of a core wire 11. A spring index C1 in the outer coil 13 and a torsional stress τ1 of an outer densely wound portion 13B are made to be within a constant range. An initial tension F1 of the outer densely wound portion 13B on a proximal side is increased so that rotation transmission performance to a distal end side is improved even when a coarsely wound portion is provided on the distal end side.
