PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a needle tip protector for an indwelling needle having a novel structure capable of improving safety and the like as compared with the conventional one. A needle tip protector for an indwelling needle, which is provided with a cylindrical peripheral wall 58, is externally attached to a needle hub of a indwelling needle, and moves to the needle tip side to cover the needle tip of the indwelling needle. The locking portion 74 that is locked to the needle hub at the moving position of the indwelling needle toward the needle tip side to prevent the indwelling needle from retreating toward the proximal end side to prevent re-exposure of the needle tip is provided. In addition to being provided, the peripheral wall is provided with a portion located apart from the outer peripheral side of the locking portion.
