The present invention relates to an auxiliary wheel device for a hospital bed, particularly to a wheel structure for allowing a hospital bed to move in a specific direction or turn around. The main bed body is provided with front and back wheel sets on the lower thereof. An auxiliary wheel device fitted between the front and back wheel sets comprises a frame pivoted to the main bed body, a plural of auxiliary wheels fitted on both sides of the frame, a shock absorbing unit fitted correspondingly to the bed and a driving source. The frame is fitted correspondingly to the driving unit, one end of which is further connected to the shock absorbing unit. As a result, the auxiliary wheel device will not contact the ground when the bed is used on a normal condition, and the driving source has an exerting axle which may prop against the frame to allow two auxiliary wheels to contact the ground for turning or movement of the bed.
