The method involves selecting and providing a dental prosthesis mold block (5) having a dentin region made of material with optical properties and an enamel region made of translucent material, where the dentin region comprises two dentin surfaces. One of the dentin surfaces is selected, and thickness of the translucent material is reduced parallel to the selected dentin surface down to a set point (S3). A dental prosthesis part (6) is manufactured according to CAD/computer assisted manufacturing (CAM) method by material ablation from the dental prosthesis mold block.
