The invention also relates to a method to separate a cannula needle (K) from a syringe (S).It is significant for the cannula needle remover according to the present invention that the separation mechanism (5) comprises a stationary part (3), a receiving part (7) that is to a limited extent rotatable relative to the stationary part (3), that the receiving part (7) comprises a device (10) to take up that end of the syringe (S) that has the cannula needle (K), that the receiving part (7) has an internal free space (11) in which the cannula needle (K) is located before it is separated from the rest of the syringe, that the separation mechanism (5) comprises a gripping device (13), that a fork-like end (14) of the gripping device (13) is situated in the immediate vicinity of the cannula needle (K) will come into a gripping relationship with the fork-like end (14), and that a separation of the cannula needle (K) from the syringe (S) will occur during the final phase of the limited rotation.
