PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gene having a novel function which can increase or decrease protein content in an angiosperm seed and to provide a method for using the same.SOLUTION: A method significantly decreases protein content in a seed by expressing, in a plant body, a chimeric protein in which a transcription factor consisting of a protein which comprises a specific amino acid sequence is fused with a functional peptide which converts any transcription factor into a transcriptional repressor or a transcription factor consisting of a protein which comprises any one amino acid sequence of amino acid sequences consisting of a specific sequence. In the method, the chimeric protein is a protein with a transcriptional repressor.
