PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an absorbent article allowing a user to have a sense of comfort in wearing by suppressing excessive swelling or creases caused by looseness etc. in the crotch part when the article is worn.
SOLUTION: The absorbent article 1A includes: an absorber 22 formed of a front end part 42, a center part 44 and a rear end part 46 in the longitudinal direction and at least a pair of left and right slits 48a and 48b penetrating from the front side to the rear side of the absorber 22, formed in an area from the center part 44 to a part of the front end part 42. The pair of slits 48a and 48b are formed to bend in the front end part 42 in such a way that the space between the slits 48a and 48b becomes wider toward the respective side edge sides of the absorber 22. When the absorbent article is worn, at least part of the space between the slits 48a and 48b is closed as the absorber 22 is compressed in the lateral direction, so that the width at least in the center part 44 of the absorber 22 is reduced.
