The invention relates to a cap for cutting catheter specimens, integrating a cutting element particularly designed for cutting the tip of a catheter at the same time it is introduced into a bottle, making the microbiological diagnosis of possible nosocomial diseases easier as it prevents possible contaminations of the specimen as a result of mishandling. It also prevents medical personnel from accidentally cutting themselves with a scalpel or scissors.
