PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To acquire an optimum endoscopic image by preventing dislocation of a flare diaphragm and an objective lens by positioning and fixing the flare diaphragm and the objective lens on an prism without using the inner circumference of an opening of a cover section, and also to reduce the diameter of an observation optical system and a distal part of an endoscope.
SOLUTION: An optical adaptor 2 for an endoscope comprises a distal frame member 12 with an illuminating optical system, an adapter body 11 to which the distal frame member 12 is attached, a cover section 5 covering the distal frame member 12 and a part of the adaptor body 11, the objective lens 6 acting as an objective optical system, the prism 13 fixed to the adaptor body 11 for converting the light path of incident light of the objective lens 6 and for guiding the incident light to an imaging element 4E, and the flare diaphragm 15 arranged between the objective lens 6 and the prism 13, and is attached detachably to the insertion section 4 of the endoscope. The adaptor body 11 and the distal frame member 12 has a positioning means 20 for positioning and fixing the flare diaphragm 15 and the objective lens 6 on an incident surface 13a of the prism 13 which incident light enters.
