There is provided a subperiosteal implant for dental prosthesis for edentulous alveolar ridge fixation, the implant comprising a biocompatible baseplate being anatomically contoured and perforated for submucosal implantation and fixation to the alveolar bone and at least one transmucosal abutment protruding from the baseplate for the fixation of dental prosthesis thereto. There is also provided a method of implanting the subperiosteal jaw comprising forming an alveolar crest incision, insertion of the subperiosteal jaw implant via the alveolar crest incision and stitching the alveolar crest incision closed leaving the at least one transmucosal abutment protruding for affixation of a dental prosthesis thereto.Linvention concerne un implant sous-périosté pour prothèse dentaire permettant la fixation de crête alvéolaire édentée, limplant comprenant une plaque de base biocompatible présentant un contour anatomique et étant perforée pour une implantation sous-muqueuse et une fixation à los alvéolaire et au moins une butée transmucosale faisant saillie depuis la plaque de base pour y permettre la fixation dune prothèse dentaire. Linvention concerne également un procédé dimplantation de la mâchoire sous-périosté comprenant la formation dune incision de crête alvéolaire, linsertion de limplant de mâchoire sous-périosté par lintermédiaire de lincision de crête alvéolaire et la suture afin dobturer lincision de crête alvéolaire en laissant la ou les butées transmucosales en saille afin dy permettre la pose dune prothèse dentaire.
