The present invention relates to a composition for preventing hair loss or stimulating hair growth comprising a mixture of thymosin β4 and Houttuynia cordata extract as an active ingredient. More specifically, the composition of the present invention for preventing hair loss or stimulating hair growth comprising a mixture of thymosin β4 and Houttuynia cordata extract as an active ingredient is safe without cytotoxicity, and effectively inhibits the expression of TGF-β1, thereby suppressing the progression from normal hair to hair loss and thus slowing down hair loss. Therefore, the composition of the present invention can be usefully used in a pharmaceutical composition, quasi-drug or cosmetic composition for preventing hair loss or stimulating hair growth.본 발명은 어성초 추출물 및 티모신 β4의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 탈모방지 또는 발모촉진용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 보다 상세하게는 본 발명의 어성초 추출물 및 티모신 β4의 혼합물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 탈모방지 또는 발모촉진용 조성물은 세포독성이 없어 안전하고, TGF-β1의 발현을 효과적으로 억제함으로써 정상 모발이 탈모로 진행되는 과정을 줄여 탈모 현상을 늦추는 효과가 있으므로, 탈모방지 또는 발모촉진용 약학적 조성물, 의약외품 또는 화장료 조성물에 유용하게 이용될 수 있다.
