A system and method for detecting and displaying contractile activity patterns of a gastrointestinal tract is provided. An image stream captured by an in vivo device may be automatically analyzed, the image stream comprising image frames, each frame comprising a plurality of pixels. A processing unit may be configured to obtain a motility bar comprising lines, the motility bar calculated based on at least a subset of selected frames of the image stream, each line representing pixel-based properties of an image frame. The motility bar may be filtered by the processing unit, which is further configured to detect contractile activity patterns in the in the filtered representation of the motility bar by detecting local maxima points. A display representing the detected contractile activity patterns may be generated on a visual display unit.Linvention concerne un système et un procédé pour détecter et afficher des motifs dactivité contractile dun tractus gastro-intestinal. Un flux dimage, capturé par un dispositif in vivo, peut être analysé automatiquement, le flux dimage comprenant des trames dimage, chaque trame comprenant une pluralité de pixels. Une unité de traitement peut être configurée pour obtenir une barre de motilité comprenant des lignes, la barre de motilité étant calculée sur la base dau moins un sous-ensemble de trames sélectionnées du flux dimage, chaque ligne représentant des propriétés basées sur des pixels dune trame dimage. La barre de motilité peut être filtrée par lunité de traitement, qui est en outre configurée pour détecter des motifs dactivité contractile dans la représentation filtrée de la barre de motilité par détection de points maximaux locaux. Un affichage, représentant les motifs dactivité contractile détectés, peut être généré sur une unité daffichage visuel.
