PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gradient magnetic field power supply device leveling power held by each phase of primary windings of a power supply transformer with respect to each output channel and being capable of stably sharing the power in comparison with a prior art even when deviations among output currents and output voltages among output channels exist, and further to provide a magnetic resonance imaging apparatus.SOLUTION: A magnetic resonance imaging apparatus supplies a current to each gradient magnetic field coil from a gradient magnetic field power supply device and generates a gradient magnetic field in a static magnetic field space. In the magnetic resonance imaging apparatus, a gradient magnetic field power source device has a transformer supplying power supplied to primary windings to a current output circuit by a plurality of secondary windings, having a number of phases of the plurality of secondary windings being a natural number multiple of a number of phases of the primary windings, having each phase wound of the secondary windings of an output channel corresponding to each axial direction of spatial coordinate axes with respect to each phase of the primary windings, and having the secondary windings of each phase having the secondary windings corresponding to each output channel disposed in a distributed manner in at least one direction of a center line direction and a concentric direction of the primary windings with respect to the primary windings corresponding to each phase.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
