PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a footrest operating device which is easily operated even by a person in need of nursing care who needs to use a wheelchair due to a decline in muscular strength.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a footrest operating device 1 for operating to move a footrest C1 via a remote operating mechanism 3 by operating an operation part 2. The remote operating mechanism 3 includes an operation-side rotating body 31, a footrest-side rotating body 32, a first wire 33a, and a second wire 33b. The footrest makes moving actions that are synchronized with rotating actions of the footrest-side rotating body 32. The first wire 33a connects the operation-side rotating body 31 and the footrest-side rotating body 32 in such a manner that the footrest-side rotating body 32 rotates in one direction, and the second wire 33b connects the operation-side rotating body 31 and the footrest-side rotating body 32 in such a manner that the footrest-side rotating body 32 rotates in the reverse direction.
