PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chaff water-retaining mat formed of a reactive urethane binder, having a strength not to be bent or broken even if stamped by feet and an improved water absorbing speed and a medium structure for planting or greening using the same.SOLUTION: The chaff water-retaining mat for planting or greening includes chaff which is bound by a reactive urethane binder including a polyethylene oxide group, especially the reactive urethane binder combined with a polyethylene oxide adduct including isocyanate group terminal urethane prepolymer and at least two hydroxy groups, and the water absorbing speed of the mat is improved. The chaff water-retaining mat for planting or greening is well-balanced in the water absorbing speed and the strength, and is applicable to the medium structure with an additional soil layer with planted plants layered on the chaff water-retaining mat, or the medium structure with plants planted on the soil loaded into a hole formed on the surface of the chaff water-retaining mat for tree planting or greening.COPYRIGHT: (C)2012,JPO&INPIT【課題】 反応型ウレタン系結合剤で形成された籾殻保水マットであって、足で踏んでも折れたり崩れたりしない強度を有し、吸水速度が向上した籾殻保水マットおよびそれを用いた植栽または緑化用培地構造を提供する。【解決手段】 籾殻がポリエチレンオキシド基を含む反応型ウレタン系結合剤、特にイソシアネート基末端ウレタンプレポリマーと水酸基を2個以上有するポリエチレンオキシド付加物の組み合わせの反応型ウレタン系結合剤で結合された、吸水速度が改良されている植栽または緑化用の籾殻保水マットは吸水速度と強度のバランスがよく、該籾殻保水マットの上に植物を植えた客土層を重ねた培地構造か、または籾殻保水マットの表面に穴を設けその中に土壌を入れて植物を植えた培地構造の植栽または緑化用培地構造に適用できる。【選択図】 図1
