PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for separating iodine from kelp containing much iodine, economically in a short time, while keeping its quality and to provide kelp from which iodine is removed by the device.SOLUTION: There is provided a device in which dried or raw kelp 6 is immersed into immersion liquid 2, then, the immersion liquid 2 is conducted by a pump 3 into an anion exchange resin held in a resin column 5, and circulated, while allowing the anion exchange resin in the resin column 5 to adsorb iodine dissolved into the immersion liquid.
