PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an X-ray diagnostic apparatus and a method capable of reducing operators troublesomeness related to examination as well as X-ray exposure.SOLUTION: The X-ray diagnostic apparatus has an X-ray tube, an input interface, a holding mechanism, an X-ray detector, a display part, an associating part, and a reconstruction part. The X-ray tube outputs X-ray in response to an input by an operator. The input interface receives an operation of the operator specifying at least a direction. The holding mechanism holds the X-ray tube in a movable manner in accordance with the operation specifying at least the direction. The X-ray detector detects the X-ray output from the X-ray tube and transmitting through a subject and outputs X-ray image data. The display part sequentially displays the X-ray image data in response to the output from the X-ray detector.
