The present invention relates to a novel technology of preparing biopesticide formulation Org-Metqjal an ecologically safe and economic pest management strategy, by using an entomopathogenic fungus M. anisopliae. The invention comprises development of� liquid based formulation. The liquid bioformulation was prepared in potato dextrose broth (PDB). The efficiency of the preparation was enhanced by adding adjuvants and oils for greater adherence to plant system and reduced conidial desiccation on exposure to sunlight. It also protects conidia from UV rays. Org-Metajal can be stored up to 30 months in deep freeze conditions, 22 months in freeze temperature and 18 months in room temperature. The delivery system of the biopesticide in the crop field was also standardized. When efficacy of the bioformulation, was tested against cow pea aphid, A. craccivora in pot as well as field condition, it was found to be highly effective with significant reduction of aphid population. Highest aphid mortality (80%) was recorded at 30 days after spraying protect of seconding spread of cow pea mosaic disease up to 100 per cent and 96.03 per cent in pot and field condition respectively. Protection of cow pea mosaic disease by spraying of Org-Metajal at 15 days interval for twice proved to be the best treatment with highest yield of 24.03 t/ha as compared to control (11.20 t/ha). Study on persistence and viability of M. anisopliae was studied in tea ecosystem and it was found that conidia in the formulation of Org-Metajal, M. anisopliae can perssist in soil and air upto one year without losing its viability during our study period. It is highly economic and safe bio-pesticide, a vital component of the organic-farming concept, the latest demand of the developing and developed nations.
