PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evaluate an apparent smoothness of the skin by an objective method using an image analysis.SOLUTION: The smoothness of the skin is evaluated by the following steps (1)-(3): (1) (1a) a step of forming surface-reflected light images and/or internal scattered light images of the respective skins of a plurality of subjects using a polarized light, decomposing the surface-reflected light images and/or the internal scattered light images into images of a plurality phases with different frequency ranges, and finding basic statistics of the decomposed images, (1b) a step of finding a mean value of the luminances of regular images, and (1c) a step of finding a subjective evaluation value of the skin smoothness (2) a step of performing a multiple linear regression analysis of the subjective evaluation value of the skin smoothness in (1c) with respect to the basic statistics in (1a) and the mean value of the luminance of the regular images in (1b) and (3) a step of acquiring the subjective evaluation value of the smoothness of the skin from the basic statistic of the surface-reflected light image and/or the internal scattered light image of an optional subjects skin and the mean value of the luminance of the regular images based on the regression expression obtained in (2).COPYRIGHT: (C)2010,JPO&INPIT【課題】肌の見た目のなめらかさを、画像解析を用いた客観的な手法で評価する。【解決手段】次の(1)~(3)の工程により肌のなめらかさを評価する。(1)複数の被験者の肌の各々について、(1a)偏光を用いて表面反射光画像及び/又は内部散乱光画像を形成し、表面反射光画像及び/又は内部散乱光画像を周波数領域の異なる複数階層の画像に分解し、分解した画像の基本統計量を求める工程、(1b)通常画像の明るさの平均値を求める工程、(1c)肌のなめらかさの主観的評価値を求める工程、(2)(1a)の基本統計量と、(1b)の通常画像の明るさの平均値とに対する、(1c)の肌のなめらかさの主観的評価値の重回帰分析を行う工程、(3)(2)で得た回帰式に基づき、任意の被験者の肌の表面反射光画像及び/又は内部散乱光画像の基本統計量と、通常画像の明るさの平均値とから、肌のなめらかさの主観的評価値を得る工程【選択図】図1
