The present invention relates to an alcoholic disinfectant comprising: a) at least 78 wt% ethanol with respect to the weight of the disinfectant； and b) one or more fatty acid esters of monovalent C1-C6 alkyl alcohols. Furthermore, the disinfectant contains less than 0.1 wt% glycerin and is therefore particularly effective for use in hand surgical and sanitary disinfection.
