The present invention relates to a device in the form of a perforated trocar, in particular for use in surgical and radiological diagnostic techniques. The device comprises an outer sleeve (5) having a rigid tube (8) and a mandolin (6) having a rod (18). The rod (18) is suitable for sliding movement within the outer sleeve (5) and has a piercing tip (21, 33) at the distal end of the rod (18). The rod (18) further comprises a longitudinal groove (20) disposed on the surface of the rod (18), the longitudinal groove (20) from the distal end of the rod (18).
