PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus and a control program by which the formation and the display of supporting data enabling whether the distal end section of a piercing needle which has been pierced accurately reaches a target region or not to be grasped in the initial stage when the piercing needle is pierced in a lesion of a patient under the observation of image data to perform a specified examination or medical treatment.SOLUTION: An ultrasonic diagnostic apparatus 100 includes an ultrasonic probe 2, a positional information detecting section 6, an image data forming section 9, a piercing region estimating section 11, a supporting data forming section 13, and a display section 14. In this case, the ultrasonic probe 2 performs an ultrasonic wave transmission/receipt to a three-dimensional region in the body including a lesion of a patient. The positional information detecting section detects positional information which is relative to the ultrasonic probe at the distal end section of a piercing needle which has been pierced into the body of the patient. The image data forming section forms image data in an image cross section including the lesion conforming to the volume data of the three-dimensional region. The piercing region estimating section estimates at least either one of a predicted piercing region and a predicted piercing position of the distal end section of the piercing needle in the lesion conforming to the positional information of the piercing needle distal end which is detected in time series. The supporting data forming section forms supporting data by adding at least either one of the predicted piercing region and the predicted piercing position to the image data.
