Apparatus for extracorporeal blood treatment, comprising: - at least one blood treatment unit (3) having a first chamber and a second chamber separated by a semipermeable membrane, - at least one blood extraction branch (7) that it has one end destined to connect with a cardiovascular system of a patient and another end in communication with an entrance of the first chamber, 1 - at least one branch (9) of blood return, which has one end destined to connect with a cardiovascular system of a patient and other end in communication with an outlet of the first chamber, - first means of movement (14) associated with a predetermined section (13) of the blood collection branch (7) to cause a flow of liquid through said predetermined section (13), the first movement means comprising a first pump that is active in the predetermined section (13) and operates in the blood collection branch； and - a blood flow calculation device (25) comprising: - a memory (26) for receiving and storing a first data (i1) referring to the blood flow drawn from the patient (Qb), or a second data (i2 ) referring to the liquid flow (Qt) through the section (13), the memory (26) being able to receive and store a third data (i3) referring to an infusion liquid flow (Qinf) 25 flowing through a infusion line, and - a control unit (27), connected to the memory (26), - an infusion line (15) connected to the blood collection branch (7) in a section thereof located upstream of the predetermined section (13) with reference to a direction of blood circulation in the blood collection branch, and - second means (18) of movement to cause a flow of infusion liquid through the infusion line (15) , characterized in that the control unit (27) is programmed to calculate either the first data (i1) refer entity to the blood flow taken from the patient or the second data (i2) referring to the flow of liquid through the section (13), as a function of the third data (i3) referring to the flow of infusion liquid (Qinf).Apa
