To provide methods for treating cancer in patients.SOLUTION: The invention relates to a method for treating cancer in a patient by administering a compound useful as an ATR protein kinase inhibitor in combination with a compound useful as a Chk1 protein kinase inhibitor. The combination displays a surprising synergetic effect in the treatment of cancer, although the targeted protein kinases are present in the same biological pathway.
