The present disclosure relates to a functional medicine chest. The medicine chest includes a chest having a number of drawers, a cover set at one side of the chest, and a control device. The control device includes a control unit, an input unit, a storage unit and a display unit. When a medicine is put into the medicine chest, the input unit obtains medicine information of the medicine and sends the information to the control unit. The control unit determines which category the medicine is belonged to and which drawer the medicine should be positioned. The control unit also stores the corresponding information of the category and the drawer in the storage unit and display the information via the display. When the medicine is taken out from the medicine chest, the input unit obtains partial information of the medicine input by the user.
