The unit has upper and lower housing parts (2, 3) with an outer wall and comprising an electrical energy source. A tear-open closure formed by an insert (10) is provided in the outer wall for forming an opening for removal of electrical energy source, and formed by an attenuation line. The housing parts are connected by fixed brackets that are not accessible from outside. An electrical command element i.e. switch, is arranged under a ductile region (8) of the outer wall, where the region forms the closure that is equipped with a handle latch (13). The housing parts are made of plastic. An independent claim is also included for a method for manufacturing an energy supply unit.
