The present invention relates to an antithrombotic composition comprising a peel extract of rambutan fruits (Nephelium lappaceum) as an active ingredient, and more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating/alleviating thrombosis through inhibition of blood coagulation, which comprises, as an active ingredient, a rambutan peel extract prepared from collected peels of well-selected rambutan fruits washed with water and to a functional health food. As proven through the examples in the present specification, the peel extract of rambutan fruits, as the active ingredient of the pharmaceutical composition for preventing or treating thrombosis and the functional health food of the present invention, shows potent antithrombotic activity due to inhibition of thrombus formation-related enzymes and inhibition of blood coagulation factors, while showing no hemolytic activity with respect to human red blood cells has excellent thermal stability and does not lose inhibitory effects on thrombus formation-related enzymes and blood coagulation factors even in the acidic environment of pH 2 and in blood plasma, and thus, the peel extract of rambutan fruits can be expected to be used for preventing and treating thrombosis, such as ischemic stroke and hemorrhagic stroke, through improving blood circulation.
