A microbial adherence inhibitor in the form of fowl egg antibodies isdisclosed, along with the method of making it and methods of using it. The inhibitorfunctions bysubstantially preventing the attachment of adherence of colony-formingmicroorganisms in the respiratory tracts of host animals and humans. Thecolony-formingmicroorganisms include Pasteurella multocida, Mannheimia haemolytica,Haemophilus somnus and Haemophilus suis. The inhibitor is made by inoculatingfemale birds with the immunogens from colony-forming microorganisms, harvestingthe eggs which contain antibodies to the immunogen, and separating the yolkandalbumin from the shells of the eggs. The yolk and albumin contents areadministered toanimals or human by distributing the contents directly or introducing thecontentsentrained in air.
