These two components can be stored separately and joined shortly before or at the time of application. To use the system, the liquid vehicle can be applied over the target skin area or the blade, the blade can then be applied over the target skin area so that the liquid vehicle is positioned between the blade and the skin and placed in contact with the impregnated ingredients on the slide. After the slide and liquid carrier are placed in this manner, the ingredients in the slide and liquid carrier are joined to form a combined formulation that is capable of releasing a drug through the skin at a desired rate.
