An apparatus for wrapping bales, which comprises a supporting platform (2) for a bale (A) composed of previously cut agricultural products, such as grass, wheat, corn, hay, forage and the like, and means (3) for moving the bale (A), when it is placed on the platform (2), according to at least two mutually perpendicular rotation axes (B, C). At least one magazine (4) for supplying a covering element (D) that can be wound automatically around the bale (A), during its rotation about the rotation axes (B, C), for its wrapping, faces the platform (2) and is proximate thereto. The apparatus comprises at least one sensor for the optionally indirect detection of the forces applied to at least one respective support of the bale (A) during its rotation the at least one sensor is controlled by an assembly for the control of the movement means (3), in order to adjust the rotation rate of the bale (A), about the rotation axes (B, C), as a function of the force values detected by the at least one sensor.
