The present invention provides a formula of vegetal hair dye, which comprises a pigment composition and a dyeing promoter wherein the pigment composition includes a first pigment, which is selected from logwood extract with major absorption wavelength between 430 nm~450 nm and, the dyeing promoter contains polypylene glycol, menthol, and a combination of the same. The present invention employs the natural vegetal pigment extracted from the logwood to replace the pigment component of conventional hair dye, and adds with dyeing promoter, so as to obtain the vegetal hair dye with enhanced dyeability for the dye and with increased color saturation for hair dyeing.
