PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an in-vivo decomposable and absorbable polymer that is safe and has a very low metal catalyst content while retaining desired properties thereof suitable for medical implants and the like, and to provide a method applicable on an industrial scale for reducing a metal catalyst content in the in-vivo decomposable and absorbable polymer.
SOLUTION: The manufacturing method of the in-vivo decomposable and absorbable polymer having a metal catalyst content of less than 1 ppm in terms of the metal comprises (1) a step for manufacturing a copolymer by copolymerizing a lactide and &epsi-caprolactone in a molar ratio of 65/35 to 85/15 and (2) a step for washing the copolymer with a mixed solvent containing acetic acid and isopropanol in a volume ratio of 45/55 to 55/45 at a temperature lower than 40°C followed by drying.
