PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for introduction into a body to form a predefined curved configuration within the body.SOLUTION: The device includes an elongated element 10 formed from a plurality of segments 12, wherein the elongated element forms interconnection between the plurality of segments adjacent to each other by hinges 14, or interconnection by flexibility and has a cross-sectional shape. The device further includes a conduit having a closely engaging shape with the cross-sectional shape of the elongated element.
