A lift (10) attachable to a vehicle comprises a base assembly (12) mountable to a vehicle, a platform assembly (14) for raising and lowering a load, and a linkage assembly (16) for moving the platform assembly (14) relative to the base assembly (12). The platform assembly (14) comprises a proximal platform (22) closest to the link assembly (16) and a distal platform (24) remote from the link assembly (16). The proximal and distal platforms (22；24) are pivotally connected to one another by a hinge (84) at the distal end of the proximal platform (22) and the proximal end of the distal platform (24). The platform assembly (14) is movable between a folded position in which the proximal and distal platforms (22；24) are folded about the hinge (84) such that their undersides face one another and an unfolded position in which the proximal and distal platforms (22；24) are unfolded such that their undersides both face the same direction. The lift (10) further comprises a fold assembly (68) for moving the platform assembly (14) between the unfolded and folded configurations, which fold assembly comprises a proximal arm (70, fig 6) slidably mounted to the proximal platform, a distal arm (74, fig 6) secured to the distal platform, and an intermediate arm (72, fig 6) pivotally secured to the proximal and distal arms and slidably mounted to the proximal platform.
