The present invention relates to a monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative having purity of 92% or more and an electrical conductivity of 50 µS/cm or less. The monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative can be produced by a production method comprising: step (A) of reacting a ketalized glycerin derivative with a monoalkenyl glycidyl ether in the presence of an inorganic base to produce a ketal of a ketalized glycerin derivative step (B) of purifying the ketal produced in step (A) by distillation and step (C) of hydrolyzing the ketal produced in step (B). According to the present invention, it becomes possible to provide a high-purity monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative which can be produced hardly so far. Furthermore, it also becomes possible to provide a glycerin-derivative-modified silicone that is chemically stable and has excellent practical usefulness including emulsifiability and excellent blend stability and a use of the glycerin-derivative-modified silicone using the monoalkenyl-containing glycerin derivative
