Provided are antibodies, antigen binding proteins, and Fc fusion proteins that bind to specific Fc receptors but have reduced effector functions, including recombinant polypeptides comprising chimeric heavy chain constant region sequences. Methods of making constructs for expression of such chimeric Fc-containing antibodies, antigen binding proteins, and Fc fusion proteins in cell lines, and methods for producing and isolating the chimeric Fc-containing proteins are provided.
