<;P>;PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant filter medium for gas removal, one filter medium of which has both functions of decomposing ozone and adsorbing VOC while keeping flame retardancy. <;P>;SOLUTION: The flame-retardant filter medium for gas removal is obtained by depositing an impregnated activated carbon particle, which is obtained by impregnating an activated carbon particle with potassium carbonate and/or potassium hydrogen carbonate, on a cover material which contains a flame retardant and consists of a woven fabric. The amount M(%) of potassium carbonate and/or potassium hydrogen carbonate to be impregnated is &ge;1 mass%.
