A method for transmitting resistance to hydrogen peroxide or for increasing resistance to hydrogen peroxide in a microorganism, which comprises introducing a gene that transmits resistance to hydrogen peroxide in the microorganism, or modifying the gene present in the microorganism to increase the expression of the gene, said gene encoding hydrogen peroxide resistance encoding a protein selected from the following proteins (a) to (c): (a) a protein having the amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO: 2; (b) a protein that has an amino acid sequence of the amino acid sequence of (a), except that one to ten amino acid residues have been removed, substituted, or added, and because it has the activity of transmitting peroxide resistance of hydrogen; and (c) a protein that has an amino acid sequence that has an identity of 85% or more with the amino acid sequence of (a), and that exhibits the activity of transmitting resistance to hydrogen peroxide; or having said gene that transmits resistance to hydrogen peroxide, a polynucleotide that is selected from the following polynucleotides (d) to (f): (d) a polynucleotide having the nucleotide sequence of SEQ ID NO: 1; (e) a polynucleotide that hybridizes, under stringent conditions, with a polynucleotide that has a sequence complementary to the nucleotide sequence of (d), and that encodes a protein that exhibits the activity of transmitting resistance to hydrogen peroxide; and (f) a polynucleotide that has a nucleotide sequence that has an identity of 85% or more with the nucleotide sequence of (d), and that encodes a protein that exhibits the activity of transmitting resistance to hydrogen peroxide; where said microorganism is a bacterium that belongs to the genus Lactobacillus.Un método para transmitir resistencia al peróxido de hidrógeno o para aumentar la resistencia al peróxido de hidrógeno en un microorganismo, que comprende la introducción de un gen que transmite resistencia al peróxido de hidrógeno en el microorganismo, o la
