The present utility model relates to a process of making insecticide from plant extract more particularly to insecticide made from Alpinia elegans extract. The process includes soaking pulverized Alpinia elegans leaves in solvent for 12-48 hours and filtering the mixture to get the extract. The extract is put inside the evaporator to remove a portion of solvent and further dried to produce powdered extract, and sieved to attain uniform size. The powdered extract is mixed with solvent to produce mosquito repellant spray and insecticide spray. The extract can be mixed with suitable carrier to produce gel, cream or lotion.
