PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light irradiation apparatus for controlling hair growth, surely keeping a user from unexpectedly touching an optical panel getting a high temperature even if the optical panel reaches the high temperature during and after using the apparatus when using the light irradiation apparatus for controlling hair growth.SOLUTION: This light irradiation apparatus for controlling hair growth includes: a light emitting section 1 emitting a light for controlling the growth of body hair of a treated skin an optical panel 2 transmitting the light emitted by the light emitting section 1 and irradiating the outside and a shutter 3 openably/closably provided and covering the outside surface of the optical panel 2 in closure.
