PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the retention of oral drug dosage forms in a stomach.SOLUTION: SOLUTION: The retention of oral drug dosage forms in a stomach is improved by using swellable dosage forms that are shaped in a manner that prevents them from inadvertently passing through a pylorus as a result of being in a particular orientation.
