PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting deice for plant growth, which uniformly irradiates plants with light and a method for plant growth.SOLUTION: A lighting device 100 for plant growth comprises illuminators 110 and 120 each having a plurality of light sources 130 arranged in a raw. The illuminators 110 and 120 are arranged at: height H determined in advance, from a plane 30 which is formed by openings of containers 20 for plant cultivation outside the area where the containers 20 for plant cultivation are arranged and positions sandwiching a plane 40 perpendicular to the plane 30 which is formed by the openings of the containers 20 for plant cultivation.
