TREATMENT AND / OR PREVENTION OF INFLAMMATION AND PHOTO DAMAGE OF SKIN AND PHOTO PROTECTION OF SKIN USING A WATER-SOLUBLE EXTRACT OF PLANT OF THE GENUS SOLANUM

A pharmaceutical composition for preventing and treating photo-damage to the skin, comprising a water-soluble extract of a plant of the genus Solanum, wherein said water-soluble extract includes solamargin and solasonin. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1, characterized in that said water-soluble extract comprises at least 60% by weight of solamargine and solasonin. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1, characterized in that said water-soluble extract comprises at least 60-90% by weight of solamargine and solasonin. The pharmaceutical composition of claim 1, wherein said skin photo-damage includes one of the following symptoms: thinning of the skin, atrophy of the skin, reduction of collagen fibers and elastic fibers, loss of skin elasticity, dryness, wrinkle formation, inflammatory cell infiltration, premature skin aging, vascular changes, pigmentation changes, comedone, cysts and pathological changes in the skin. 5. The pharmaceutical composition according to claim 1, which is administered in the form of an oral dosage form.
