A medical image diagnostic apparatus includes an imaging mechanism for imaging a subject and a sleeper for arranging the subject at a position for imaging. Further, the sleeper has a top plate, a limiting mechanism, a driving mechanism, and an operation unit. The subject is placed on the top plate and is movable. The limiting mechanism limits the movement of the top plate. The drive mechanism generates a driving force for moving the top plate. The operation unit receives a direction instruction operation for instructing the drive mechanism to move the top plate, and a release operation for releasing the restriction of the human-powered operation by the restriction mechanism.
