PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for removing tellurium from the sulfuric acid leachate of a copper electrolytic slime in which reaction time is reduced, the entanglement of air is prevented, and the using amount of metal copper is reduced.SOLUTION: In the method of leaching copper from a copper electrolytic slime by sulfuric acid leaching to remoVe tellurium included in the sulfuric acid leachate thereof with metal copper, the sulfuric acid leachate is charged with copper powder having a dendritic shape as the metal copper, and the number of revolution in a stirring machine is controlled to 50 to 90 rpm, and stirring is performed, so that the sulfuric acid leachate is contacted with the copper powder to reduce tellurium in the sulfuric acid leachate.
