PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sound generation device of a fishing reel, which enables a user to feel an operation state of a drag device sensitively with auditory and tactile senses.SOLUTION: A sound generation device of a fishing reel is provided between a drive gear 11 rotatably and frictionally coupled to a handle shaft 6 and a drag washer 27 whirl-stopped and fitted to the handle shaft 6. The device comprises: a striking member 35 rotating with the drive gear 11; a sound generation body 32 whirl-stopped and fitted to the handle shaft 6, in which a repulsive engaging part 36 in contact with the striking member 35 is formed; and a first small diameter part 31 inserted into the handle shaft 6, interposed between the sound generation body 32 and the drag washer 27, and in contact with the sound generation body 32.
